Ryan “Manbear” Winther
Driven Golf Creator
The fast paced life of Ryan Winther started right out of high school. With limited offers to play baseball in college, Ryan turned his sights to the United States Army. With a desire to play baseball and work on computers, Ryan joined as a Field Artillery Computer Systems Specialist. But before the baseball season even came around, a fractured disc put Ryan’s athletic future in jeopardy. With an Honorable Discharge, Ryan went back to college in hopes of finally playing baseball somewhere. Ryan played off and on, through injuries and failed attempts to make a roster. Ryan finally retired from baseball in 2008. With not much to do, Ryan picked up a golf club for the first time. Fast forward 3 years, Ryan had set 2 Guinness Book of World Records, and in the fall of 2012, won the Re/Max World Long Drive Championship. In last 2014, with the Driven Golf Website in mind, Ryan pitched the show Driven to Comcast in hopes to have a fun and entertaining show which people could not only laugh, but learn how to become a better golfer. Driven Golf Show, now in its fourth season on NBC Sports, is having its highest rated season yet. Ryan has won multiple tour events around the world, but now focuses most his time dedicated to helping people becoming better golf versions of themselves.
