Band Walks
The most dominant muscle group in the golf swing, the glutes, are the powerhouse of hip strength and rotational power. The glutes have several functions throughout the swing. Stability of the hips, limiting lateral movement maintaining posture through the swing, and creating both rotational, and vertical power through impact
Starting position:
Mini band around the ankles or claves, start in athletic, or narrow golf posture. Slight bend to the knees and hips, spine maintaining neutral position.
Movement:
Maintaining a stance where your knees stay over, or outside your ankles, step laterally with one leg, followed by bringing the back leg back in to a narrow golf posture. Maintain level hips and shoulders throughout all movements. Repeat total reps to each side.
Notes: This exercise can do done with toes straight, pointed out, and pointed in for various glute muscle involvement
