Bosu Russian Twist

Potentially the most important muscle group, the core is composed of all the muscle from hips to shoulders. It effects full body movements as well as maintaining posture throughout movements. The core effects the transfer of energy from the lower to upper body. A strong core improves all aspects of golf from maintaining posture to increasing club head speed as well as helps prevent injuries

Starting position:

Begin by sitting in the center of a BOSU ball while holding a weight or ball in front of the chest. Brace the abs and set the shoulder blades so that the spine stays neutral or straight for hips to head. Lift the legs off the ground and work to maintain a balanced position. The angle between the torso and legs should create a ā€œVā€.

Movement:

Once in a ā€œVā€ sit position, maintain a tall torso and rotate from the thoracic spine (preferably not the low back) to bring the ball side to side. If possible, touch the ball to each side of the BOSU ball.

Notes: body position may vary depending on ability, but spine posture is the most important. Allow bent knees instead of slumped shoulders.
