Curl Up (Pilates)

Potentially the most important muscle group, the core is composed of all the muscle from hips to shoulders. It effects full body movements as well as maintaining posture throughout movements. The core effects the transfer of energy from the lower to upper body. A strong core improves all aspects of golf from maintaining posture to increasing club head speed as well as helps prevent injuries

Starting position:

Laying on you back, with knees bent, feet flat on the ground. Allow your hands and arms to rest at your sides. “brace” the abdominal to begin.

Movement:

Maintaining braced abs, gently bring the head and shoulders off the ground, aiming to the eyes and nose to the sky, not down to the feet. Allow the arms and hands to slide down the floor towards your heels. Hold for 3-5 seconds and return down in a controlled decent.
