Lateral Shoulder Raise

Efficient shoulder range of motion arm positioning in the swing, and the ability to manipulate shots

Starting position:

Holding weights at side, maintain a neutral spine, slight bend in knees and hips

Movement:

Retract the shoulder blades to maintain posture, and with a straight, but not “locked out” elbow, raise both weights out to the sides of your body, no higher than the eyes. To not allow your body to lean back

Notes: The arms should raise up, not the shoulders. This is more difficult for people with longer arms. Gauge weight accordingly or allow slight bend at elbows.
