Side Laying Clam Shells

The most dominant muscle group in the golf swing, the glutes, are the powerhouse of hip strength and rotational power. The glutes have several functions throughout the swing. Stability of the hips, limiting lateral movement maintaining posture through the swing, and creating both rotational, and vertical power through impact

Starting position:

Laying one your left side, knees bent at 90 degrees, slightly in front of body, head supported on arm to maintain a straight, neutral spine.

Movement:

Maintaining a stabile pelvis, and keeping the heels attached, rotate from the hip joint, to separate the knees. Only move the leg as high as you are able without turning the pelvis or arching the low back. Return to starting position, repeat equal repetitions on each side.

Notes: Resistance can be added with resistance band
