#1 Ball Height “Ratio” Off Tee

Use the “75% Rule” for optimum angle of attack and maximum ball speed.

Long Drive champions, along with the tour’s longest drivers, hit “up” on the ball.  It’s called a “positive angle of attack.”  It simply means that your club head ascending (relative to the ground) not descending when it reaches the ball. This only applies on tee shots, of course.

You can only accomplish a positive angle of attack when your ball is teed up at the proper height. Here’s the rule:

Make sure you have at least 3 1/4 inch tees

           ● Tee the ball up so that 75% of your ball is above the driver

NOTE: As simple as ball height may seem, it’s the step that allows the rest of the long drive principles to work. The time-tested adage still applies, “tee it high and let it fly.”
