High Over Trouble

It’s not that golf course designers are sinister, well maybe some are (Pete Dye comes to mind), it’s that a golf course without some trouble is flat out boring. You’d be surprised how many golfers are more excited when they hit a great shout to get out of trouble than they are making a birdie putt. So what’s the first rule of trouble. Avoid it.

When trouble presents itself, it’s fun and extremely rewarding to hit full, high shots that soar over trouble.

Two important tips to remember when hitting high shots that will safely fly over all the trouble.

  1.  Always swing from a stable base. This allows you to make more consistent contact. This requires core and leg strength.
  2. Keep the your head steady and stay behind the ball. This gives you the ability to fully release and shallow out the club that’ll tower over any trouble you encounter.

HINT: When hitting over trouble, visualize a clear and open fairway, with a big fat green to hit to!
