P-10 Finish

P-10 Finish

Glutes (butt muscles) are tucked under and firm. Fully fired. Hips have completely rotated to face the target and at this phase the hips are level to the ground. The front of the hip girdle is elevated approximately 6 or 7 inches from address. This push out of the ground and full rotation of the hips allows the shoulders to fully release and pass the hips into the finish position. The trail shoulder is now pointing more toward the target and the lead shoulder is behind the lead hip. The chest is pointing more to the sky and the hands are stretched back behind the lead ear. We are trying to support the finish position from the ground up and not collapse. It’s similar to a diver or gymnast who may have completed the most amazing flips but the need to land and finishing control. It all has bearing on developing the most consistently, efficient golf swing.
